The 2015 release of the Nevada Career Information System (NCIS)is now live. This PDF- NCIS Whatsnew2015d highlights many of the new features in the system. For those of you who are new to NCIS – it is a comprehensive career guidance system used by jobseekers and students, and the many career development professionals who assist them, to explore careers and postsecondary education and training options. NCIS also contains assessments, sorting tools and information files on related topics such as conducting a job search or writing a resume.

Included will be information on the importance of having accurate information for applications and resumes, creating engaging cover letters, assembling a network of references and referrers, finding key persons at a business to act as mentors, building datasets of potential employers based on skill set, work history and preferences as well as how to prepare for interviews and interactions through thorough research.
