EBSCO healthThe State of Nevada is offering a free online session for  the content found in EBSCO health resources available to public library patrons. You will learn about searching in both Health Source versions: Consumer Edition and Nursing/Academic Edition. You will also see how easy it is to include other EBSCO databases that might be relevant to a particular health-related topic.
The free online session is on Thursday, June 12, 2014 @ 10:00 AM PDT registration is required.

United Way of Southern Nevada and Grant Writing USA will present a two-day grants workshop in Las Vegas, May 28-29, 2014. This training is for grant seekers across all disciplines. Attend this class and you’ll learn how to find grants and write winning grant proposals.

Beginning and experienced grant writers from city, county and state agencies as well as nonprofits, K-12, colleges and universities are encouraged to attend. Multi-enrollment discounts and discounts for Grant Writing USA returning alumni are available. Tuition payment is not required at the time of enrollment.

Tuition is $425 and includes all materials: workbook and accompanying 420MB resource CD that’s packed full of tools and more than 200 sample grant proposals.

These workshops are intended to give anyone wanting to use ReferenceUSA a deeper understanding of how to be effective and efficient when using the resource.
The newest module to be introduced is ReferenceUSA’s Historical US Businesses data.  This module delivers incomparable access to anyone wanting to have a historical reference for their city, an industry or even an individual business.  This powerful insight will be beneficial in recognizing trends and opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs and community planners.
