More Electronic Resources Will Disappear

Starting May, 2010, the following resources will no longer be available through the library’s electronic resources; Access Science, Vault Career Library  and Visual Thesaurus

Access Science was good, but we think you may find that the Science Resource Center electronic resource contains a wealth of great information that is easy to find.

This general science resource contains information on:

  • Science topics – Any scientific term defined or explained. There is a list to choose from, or simply enter the term in the search box.
  • Biographies of famous scientist
  • Scientific magazines online

Instead of the Vault Career Library, you may want to try the Nevada Career Information System (NCIS) electronic resource. In this electronic resource you can find information on the following:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Scholarships
  • Job Responsibilities
  • Skills needed for various jobs
  • Resume and cover letter tools
  • Job outlook and income levels for various jobs

The Visual Thesaurus can be replaced by using Credo Reference. This electronic resources is a one stop shop for the following:

  • Encyclopedias
  • Dictionaries
  • Thesauri
  • Books of quotations, not to mention a range of subject-specific titles.

Be sure to try the Concept Map, it’s really cool!

As you can see, there are still electronic resources that will contain information to help in your research. Do you find this electronic resource fun and easy to use? Why or why not?
