One of the best resources is Write a Winning Resume! Upload your resume and they will review it and make suggestions on how to make it a great resume. Some places charge hundreds of dollars for this service, at the Library it’s free!

Our ReferenceUSA online resource now offers 6 million job openings from across the country.  Available listings can be found on the detail page of the company record.  Job seekers will now be able to do a search for the types of businesses they want to work for and quickly see where openings exist.

Online Workshop:  Uncovering the Hidden Job Market: Career Search Strategies using ReferenceUSA

Day/Date: Wednesdays (starts November 2 and runs through December 28)

Time:  12:30 PM Pacific (1 Hour)

Attendees will learn how to use ReferenceUSA as part of their Career Searching Strategy.  Included will be information on the importance of having accurate information for applications and resumes, creating engaging cover letters, assembling a network of references and referrers, finding key persons at a business to act as mentors, building datasets of potential employers based on skill set, work history and preferences as well as how to prepare for interviews and interactions through thorough research.
