This month, we celebrate Vincent Van Gogh, one of the most highly celebrated and widely recognized artists of all time. Van Gogh, born March 30, 1853, contributed more in his short life as an artist than many do in a lifetime. He produced more than 900 paintings and 1,100 drawings and sketches within the last 10 years of his life alone. To learn more about the artist and his genius, check out Vincent Van Gogh in the Library Catalog. The Library books, DVDs and the Library’s database Dictionary of Art all together provide a unique portrait of Van Gogh enabling the reader to come to a new level of appreciation for the man who literally changed the landscape of impressionist painting.
